Dear Yogis,
"On this path, effort never goes to waste, and there is no failure. Even a little effort toward spiritual awareness will protect you from the greatest fear."
The Bhagavad Vita , Eknath Easwaran translation
We continue to grow together and welcome Spring with hope and the sense of re birth. We were proud to sponsor an amazing documentary called " Down to Earth " that was viewed last week at CineCiutat Cinema. A beautiful true story of a family who leave everything behind and travel with their 3 children to live with Native Americans in America and then to travel the world to visit, know and connect with the shamans of many different cultures of today. It was a true inspiration of the importance of Grace for our world, each other and most of all nature. It was also a true testament to that spirituality can be practiced in many ways ...
March was good month for Earth Yoga, with your help we raised over 260 euros through our donation practice to Fundacion Nazareth. Katja and Dr Marcus Klische hosted a 3 day meditation course and Katja also taught two wonderful workshops on our chakras over the Easter weekend (another way to celebrate spirituality) Thank you Katja for showing up and teaching when many of us were off eating too much chocolate! We were also featured in two local magazines, The Daily Bulletin and The Islander .
The next few months will be a busy and inspiring time for us here at Earth Yoga.
We are proud to host David Lurey and Mirjam Wagner´s 300 hour Teacher Training (9 - 22 April) which is currently sold out. They will be using the shala for 10 days and it will be good to meet and coincide with other yogis from all over Europe through this. Our regular classes will continue as normal during this time.
We are also honored to have Tara Judelle host her 300 hour training with us from 24 April until 5 May. Her training is completely full and will run for 10 days. During her training our regular classes will move into the small shala . It will affect us all but we hope to make these 10 days as smooth as possible for you. We will not have a problem with any of our off peak hour classes, but for the peak hour classes at 10-11.30 or 18.30-20.00, there will be a first come first served policy for the 10 days. So, to ensure your place, please come a bit earlier to practice and we will all have to remember to keep noise to a minimum as there will be a practice going on in the main shala. For any of our clients who have an unlimited bono and for some reason can not get a spot during these days, we will happily extend your unlimited bono for an extra week.
We have pleasure in offering a Capoeira Workshop on Saturday 16 April (12.00 - 14.30). Wellington will introduce the basic Capoeira techniques including songs and rhythms of the Capoeira rituals. To save your spot please contact Wellington on (+34 604 34 20 08)
Mirjam Wagner will also be back in May to host her Moving into Stillness Weekend. For more information please contact us at reception or email info@earthyoga.es
We are very happy to welcome our Jeanne Heileman back to Earth Yoga. She will be teaching Part 3 of her 300 hr Tantra Flow Teacher Training. This course is open to teachers who have already completed a 200hr training and for devoted yoga students who are not Teachers but desire to learn more about their own practice. It is not necessary to have completed part one or two of this training as each 100 hour module can be taken individually.
Dates : 30th May - 11 June
For more information about Jeanne please visit her website www.jeanneheileman.com.
If you would like to know more about the course please get in touch with Sandra, Jay or Katja or email us : info@earthyoga.es
We will host our monthly Donation practice on Thursday 14 April at 10am. All monies raised will go to Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, an elephant sanctuary in Africa. Sandra already cares for two orphans elephants there and knows what a worthwhile charity it is.
To continue our Yogi of the month theme, we would like to introduce our
April Yogi of the month : Almu
Alma was born in Madrid and has since then lived in many places. She has moved between Madrid, Barcelona, London, back to Madrid and all over the mainland. Her first time on Mallorca was in 2009. Almu likes change and does not mind moving to new places. She says “that is how life goes.” Almu studied a dual degree of Law and Business, for which she did a semester abroad in London, and now she works in traffic control. Almu took up yoga when she was in her early teens and lived in Madrid. Due to moving around, she has done yoga in a number of locations, but has also practiced a variety of sports, such as sailing and diving. When she became pregnant, she took up yoga again and practiced continuously throughout her pregnancy. Almu said “that it helped her a lot and labour only took an hour.” She is grateful for having taken up yoga again and felt as though she received a lot of support from the practice and the teachers. After moving to Valencia, she found a studio that she really liked and for the first time got more engaged with the philosophy of yoga, pranayama and chanting. Here, she also studied Sanskrit. Since then, Almu has had a dedicated yoga practice and, living back on Mallorca, comes to Earth Yoga almost daily. Almu says that she loves Earth Yoga because, “it is like a shelter” where you can come after a tough day to disconnect and the studio, “feels like home” to her. We are delighted to have such a wonderful and dedicated yogi like Almu practice with us. Almu is very involved in our Earth Yoga community and has made some great suggestions for the studio. Stay as you are, Almu, and keep up the great practice!
Sadly our wonderful intern Kim is leaving us this week and we can not thank her enough for all the hours, work and energy she has put forth toward moving Earth Yoga forward. Thank You Kim and the good news is that she plans to be back this summer so we will definitely see her back at Earth Yoga in 2015.
Love
Sandra and The Earth Yoga Team
