Dear Yogis,
“And once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain, when you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person you were who walked in. That is what the storm is all about.”
By Haruki Murakami
As we close this year with our last newsletter, it is with a few reflections about the year that has passed. It has been quite a year for the world…. full of beauty, turmoil, opposites, harsh words but also love and a true calling for peace. When we look back upon this year, it will be with many mixed emotions - it was the year where the unthinkable happened, a year that we still did not manage to stop the violence in Syria and in many other places but it was also a year when people came together and called out for truth in strong voices. Sometimes we seem to have to go to the darkest of places, to see the light and see what is worth standing for.
Earth Yoga has been blessed with wonderful memories this past year,
We have welcomed many amazing teachers from all over the world to our studio; Jeanne Heilemann, Tara Judelle, David Lurey, Mirjam Wagner, Scott Lyons, Dylan Werner, Chris Chavez, Nico Luce, Nianna Bray and many more. We love being able to host teachings from many lineages and many paths all leading to One Truth.
We are truly proud of our house teachers who continue to grow, inspire, learn and teach all of you dear friends on a regular basis. All of our teachers continue to learn more, take more trainings and all have hearts bigger than the world! Thank You Katja, Jay, Brent, Margit, Agnes, Danae, Yasmin, Frank, Mateo, Linda, Jeanne, Stefanie, Sarah, Rebecca, Emily, Julia, Kim and Sandra for making our lives richer by your teachings.
We have continued to support many causes through our monthly donation practices, the projects below are just a few of the charities we have donated to this year : Can Gaza, Fundacion Nazaret, The Sheldrake Elephant Sanctuary, the animal shelter in Esporles, CineCon Ciencia, help for the refugees. With your help we will continue to grow, give and support all the good work that is being done in the world by good people.
As we are moving nearer the holiday time many of us come to realize that it is now that we need our practice more than ever – to stay centered, connect to higher self - to then truly be able to give.
For those of you who are looking for inspiration for christmas presents to give to Male loved ones. We would suggest 'The Introduction for Yoga for Men Weekend with David Lurey'. This will be a weekend workshop that introduces yoga for men who might be intimidated to come to a regular yoga class as a beginner. David will introduce the benefits of yoga in a very accessible way and a hike will be included (weather permitting). The dates are 13 - 15 January 2017. To register or to find our more information please contact either David Lurey (david@findbalance.net) or info@earthyoga.es
Jeanne Lurie will continue guiding us with healing meditation after the regular Mindful Flow class with Sandra every Thursday . The 30 minute meditation session begins staight after the 10am class, it is donation based and has different themes every month. This month we are focusing on a special Medical Meditation to Tranquilize the Mind clearing and calming a busy mind that sometimes will not leave us alone. We will be practicing the mudra that Buddha called ¨pleasing to the mind¨ together with conscious pranayama to go deep into a subtle space of inner peace and calm. Please feel free to come along and take part.
Jeanne Heileman will be hosting part one of her Tantra Flow 300 Hour Training which takes place here at Earth Yoga from 20 until 31 March 2017. This is an amazing opportunity to dive deeper into your practice – diving deeper into asanas, alignment, pranayama, meditation and how to work with the mind. Many of us teachers here at Earth Yoga has completed either Jeanne’s 200 Hour or 300 Hour training, so if you need anymore information, let us know, we love her and are happy to share. The cut off of the early bird price is 20 January 2017.
We are planing to stay open for most of the holiday season and will send out our full Christmas schedule nearer the time but for now please know that we are open as usual during next weeks fiestas (December 6 & December 8). For our most up to date schedule please visit our website www.earthyoga.es
Lastly but by no means least, we are proud to promote the ISLA Production of 'The Christmas Carol´ (Un Cuento De Navidad) . It is a family affair with both Drew, Sandra , Lucia ( Jays daughter ) and the children of Earth Yoga acting in it. It is for all ages in English and with a lot of music and Christmas Spirit. This year it takes place at the Palma Auditorium from the 15th until 18th of December. For ticket information please visit www.islatheatreproject.com
Wishing you all a wonderful holiday and a peaceful closing of 2016.
We love having you a part of our lives as we continue to grow, learn and love more in 2017.

NOVEMBER 2016 NEWSLETTER
Dear Yogis,
"If you want something you have never had, then you have got to do something you have never done"
Unknown
We hope this finds you well and that you are moving into this time of change with ease and grounding. We are enjoying a ´second spring´here in Mallorca with green fields and beautiful nature to hike in.
Last month we welcomed Nico Luce to Earth Yoga. It was such a special weekend where he shared his teachings on both the physical practice of yoga and also his studies on The Bhagavad Vita and other yogic scriptures. In our October donation practice we also raised money for the Esporles Animal shelter. We try each month to host a donation practice and over the years we have donated towards many charities including help for refugees, animal shelters, orphanages and hospital care for children.
This month we will hold our donation practice on Thursday 24th November at 10am. All monies will go towards the Can GazĂ Project. It´s a social project run by Mallorcan ex-priest. He lives with 30 homeless people in an old Finca outside Palma and he also feeds up to another 30 people from the street on a daily basis. If you are unable to make the donation class but would like to make a donation please talk to us a reception.
We are pleased to welcome back Nicole who will be offering another Yoga meets Dance and Music Workshop on Saturday 5 November (17.30-19.00) Nicole is both a yoga teacher and movement teacher. This will be for all of you who love to flow with music and who also love to dance. It will be less focus on alignment and more of just finding the joy of movement to music. This workshop is donation based and open for all levels. Please come, pay what you can and enjoy the sacred movement!
We are also very happy to introduce a workshop with our dear friend and yoga teacher Brent Mackay. It will take place on Saturday 12 November (13.00 - 16.00) Brent will use his magical way of teaching to offer timeless techniques to unlock your eternal energy which will incorporate Asana, Pranayama and Meditation. If you are interested in signing up please contact us at reception or email info@earthyoga.
We have added two new Meditation Practices to our schedule.....
In our Portals studio Agnes has begun teaching a new class on Mondays at 11.30 - 13.00. The class is called Moving into Meditation. This class uses breath, voice and movement to find your inner stillness.
In our Santa Catalina studio our kundalini teacher Jeanne will be offering a 30 minute Meditation with Mantra class. It takes place straight after our 10am Mindful Vinyasa class on Thursdays. Meditation with mantra is a very powerful means of silencing the incessant chatter of the mind to offer an oasis of peace, union and creativity and to raise consciousness. The first mediation will be the Kirtan Kriya for emotional balance. The research on Kirtan kriya has been extensive within the yoga community and within the medical community, the amazing benefits have even been written up in the Huffington Post! Come and enjoy 30 minutes of meditation technique explanation and practice after Sandra's morning class creates and opens the space to allow for transformation.
For both classes all are welcome and no experience is necessary!
And finally, as Tuesday 1 November is a fiesta we have decided to cancel our 10am morning class with Sarah and also our 19.45 Kundalini class with Jeanne. Agnes will continue to teach the 18.30 class. For our most up to date schedule please visit our website www.earthyoga.es

SEPTEMBER 2016 NEWSLETTER
Dear Friends and Yogis,
" So let us, in gently walking on the earth, leave behind a simple legacy- that we loved the earth, we were new warriors, mystic warriors who had the courage to try to save it."
From the book Mother Earth Spirituality by Ed McGaa, Eagle Man
We are all motivated by the words of Albert Schweitzer: " The noblest instinct of them all is the reverence for all life"
We are looking forward to welcoming the change in seasons, September and our dear friends who may have been traveling over the summer. We have had a wonderful summer here with more yogis visiting from all over the world, both students and amazing guest teachers. Thank you to all of you who help spread the word of Earth Yoga as we hear again and again that a lot of our new students come from word of mouth.
The heat affects our practice in a different way for us all, some of us love it (!) and some of us feel like the fire ( the pitta ) can sometimes be a bit overwhelming. The beauty of your yoga practice is that you can always slow it down and find a practice that soothes rather than overheats us. If you needed more energy (fire) we have had plenty of that too and just a few weeks ago we enjoyed the teachings of Dylan Werner. Dylan is a master of anatomy and inversions, so thank you for the knowledge and inspiration shared by him and our students!
As the summer allows most of us to spend more time in nature , at sea and simply just immersed in the outdoors, we also become aware of how rich our lives are because of the beauty of nature ...so as we move into fall, take a moment and really see where you as a human can give thanks and respect our World. We will host more donation classes during the next few months to give back to organizations that help support and make us aware of what needs to be done in order to tread more softly on this planet.
We have some exciting events taking place in September:
Beginning with a Yoga meets Dance and Music Workshop on Saturday 3rd September (17.30-19.00). It will be hosted by Nicole who is both a yoga teacher and movement teacher. We are very happy to announce that Chris Chavez
will visit Earth Yoga on the weekend of
17-18th September. We will have more information on the Workshops / Masterclasses he will be offering in the next few weeks, but we have a feeling the workshops will sell out fast so if you are interested, please contact us at Earth Yoga to reserve your spot. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Chris Chavez. He is a world known teacher based in Istanbul but originally from Canada. He is a master at arm balances, teaching with a lot of humor, heart and energy. Taking a workshop with Chris will open up doors both in your physical body and heart! He is also the teacher of our dear Brent and Rebecca ...so you will be in very good hands.

For those of you who love Jivamukti Yoga, we have a dear friend from Sweden called Anna Hultman who will teach Jivamukti inspired classes the weekend of 23 - 25 September. She is one of the most popular teachers in Sweden and her classes are a wonderful fusion of Vinyasa, Jivamukti and Flow. More information will follow soon!
October is also lining up to be another inspiring month! and so far we have the following events planned:
Nico Luce returns to Earth Yoga again to offer the following workshops.....
Nico Luce is one of those rare teachers who has such deep knowledge of the yoga philosophy and especially the Bhagavad Vita. He is also incredible at teaching the flow of Vinyasa and is inspiring on all levels. To reserve your spot please contact brentcmackay@hotmail.com or info@earthyoga.es
Christian Klix will also be joining us at the end of October, he has visited Earth Yoga before and is a gentle soul with an incredible Ashtanga practice, arm balance practice and a way of teaching which will only inspire you and not intimidate you. The dates booked are: Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 October, 2016. More information to follow shortly.
We close this newsletter with wishing you a happy return to the beauty of fall a chance to come back to routines enjoy longer walks, fresh air and as always a chance to listen, receive and give...

JULY & AUGUST 2016 NEWSLETTER
Dear Friends, yogis, summer lovers and wonderful beings,
" Beauty is invisible to the eye, for one sees only with the heart"
The Little Prince
We hope that you are all enjoying the summer, the sea and the freedom that these long summer nights bring. The summer brings a change in our social life, our daily schedule becomes a bit more free giving us more room for spontaneous gatherings, swims or just the fact that we can stay up a bit longer ..........As we step deeper into the path of our practice, whatever that may be for you, we also learn when to step back, nurture, and draw within, even with all the wonderful gatherings that the summer brings.
We encourage you to dive deeper not only into the sea but into that one practice that lifts your spirits and that really allows you to connect with something much higher than yourself. There comes a time when we must stop searching and sampling different practices but choose to instead dive deeper. That takes commitment and courage, but that is how we can evolve and break through.
We have had a very busy spring with many teacher trainings happening at Earth Yoga. We were so proud to host so many wonderful teachers: Jeanne Heileman, David Lurey, Mirjam Wagner, Tara Judelle and Scott Lyons. It is a blessing and an honor to see the faces and minds open up through these great trainings.
Now we are back to our regular schedule and we are so grateful for all the yogis who come to practice with us on a daily basis from all over the world. As our regular students and friends leave to enjoy their summer holidays, we welcome tourists and clients who are either vacationing here on the island or have this as their second home.
This coming week we will receive 20 yogis mostly from Sweden joining us in our "Yoga Summer Boost". We are 4 teachers teaching both Hatha, Yin , Vinyasa, Kundalini and Ishta Yoga. These yogis will recieve more than 13 hours of yoga over the course of 4 days and also be given time for more alignment and some soul searching. This is something we plan to do on a regular basis, so do keep up to date with our newsletter to see when the next one is! Our teachers are Sarah, Sandra, Malin and Linda.
On Friday 15th July a well known teacher from Sweden called Sam Aziz will be teaching the usual 10am Vinyasa Class. Sam has an extensive yoga background in Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Yin and Restorative Yoga. This will be a regular scheduled class so Bonocards are accepted. Just come along 10mins before the class begins to sign in and take your spot.
Our summer schedule in July and August remains the same apart from no yoga for beginner classes on Wednesdays and Fridays and no Vinyasa in Spanish with Mateo on Wednesday evenings until September. For the most up to date schedule please visit our website www.earthyoga.es.
Please note that our workshop weekend in
August with Dylan Werner is now full. Dylan will be teaching a strong flow which will include many arm balances and will be sharing his techniques for going upside down. Please contact us at reception if you would like to be put on a waiting list if a space becomes available.
Do take care, stay true to your heart and soul.

APRIL 2016 NEWSLETTER
Dear Yogis,
"On this path, effort never goes to waste, and there is no failure. Even a little effort toward spiritual awareness will protect you from the greatest fear."
The Bhagavad Vita , Eknath Easwaran translation
We continue to grow together and welcome Spring with hope and the sense of re birth. We were proud to sponsor an amazing documentary called " Down to Earth " that was viewed last week at CineCiutat Cinema. A beautiful true story of a family who leave everything behind and travel with their 3 children to live with Native Americans in America and then to travel the world to visit, know and connect with the shamans of many different cultures of today. It was a true inspiration of the importance of Grace for our world, each other and most of all nature. It was also a true testament to that spirituality can be practiced in many ways ...
March was good month for Earth Yoga, with your help we raised over 260 euros through our donation practice to Fundacion Nazareth. Katja and Dr Marcus Klische hosted a 3 day meditation course and Katja also taught two wonderful workshops on our chakras over the Easter weekend (another way to celebrate spirituality) Thank you Katja for showing up and teaching when many of us were off eating too much chocolate! We were also featured in two local magazines, The Daily Bulletin and The Islander .
The next few months will be a busy and inspiring time for us here at Earth Yoga.
We are proud to host David Lurey and Mirjam Wagner´s 300 hour Teacher Training (9 - 22 April) which is currently sold out. They will be using the shala for 10 days and it will be good to meet and coincide with other yogis from all over Europe through this. Our regular classes will continue as normal during this time.
We are also honored to have Tara Judelle host her 300 hour training with us from 24 April until 5 May. Her training is completely full and will run for 10 days. During her training our regular classes will move into the small shala . It will affect us all but we hope to make these 10 days as smooth as possible for you. We will not have a problem with any of our off peak hour classes, but for the peak hour classes at 10-11.30 or 18.30-20.00, there will be a first come first served policy for the 10 days. So, to ensure your place, please come a bit earlier to practice and we will all have to remember to keep noise to a minimum as there will be a practice going on in the main shala. For any of our clients who have an unlimited bono and for some reason can not get a spot during these days, we will happily extend your unlimited bono for an extra week.
We have pleasure in offering a Capoeira Workshop on Saturday 16 April (12.00 - 14.30). Wellington will introduce the basic Capoeira techniques including songs and rhythms of the Capoeira rituals. To save your spot please contact Wellington on (+34 604 34 20 08)
Mirjam Wagner will also be back in May to host her Moving into Stillness Weekend. For more information please contact us at reception or email info@earthyoga.es
We are very happy to welcome our Jeanne Heileman back to Earth Yoga. She will be teaching Part 3 of her 300 hr Tantra Flow Teacher Training. This course is open to teachers who have already completed a 200hr training and for devoted yoga students who are not Teachers but desire to learn more about their own practice. It is not necessary to have completed part one or two of this training as each 100 hour module can be taken individually.
Dates : 30th May - 11 June
For more information about Jeanne please visit her website www.jeanneheileman.com.
If you would like to know more about the course please get in touch with Sandra, Jay or Katja or email us : info@earthyoga.es
We will host our monthly Donation practice on Thursday 14 April at 10am. All monies raised will go to Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, an elephant sanctuary in Africa. Sandra already cares for two orphans elephants there and knows what a worthwhile charity it is.
To continue our Yogi of the month theme, we would like to introduce our
April Yogi of the month : Almu
Alma was born in Madrid and has since then lived in many places. She has moved between Madrid, Barcelona, London, back to Madrid and all over the mainland. Her first time on Mallorca was in 2009. Almu likes change and does not mind moving to new places. She says “that is how life goes.” Almu studied a dual degree of Law and Business, for which she did a semester abroad in London, and now she works in traffic control. Almu took up yoga when she was in her early teens and lived in Madrid. Due to moving around, she has done yoga in a number of locations, but has also practiced a variety of sports, such as sailing and diving. When she became pregnant, she took up yoga again and practiced continuously throughout her pregnancy. Almu said “that it helped her a lot and labour only took an hour.” She is grateful for having taken up yoga again and felt as though she received a lot of support from the practice and the teachers. After moving to Valencia, she found a studio that she really liked and for the first time got more engaged with the philosophy of yoga, pranayama and chanting. Here, she also studied Sanskrit. Since then, Almu has had a dedicated yoga practice and, living back on Mallorca, comes to Earth Yoga almost daily. Almu says that she loves Earth Yoga because, “it is like a shelter” where you can come after a tough day to disconnect and the studio, “feels like home” to her. We are delighted to have such a wonderful and dedicated yogi like Almu practice with us. Almu is very involved in our Earth Yoga community and has made some great suggestions for the studio. Stay as you are, Almu, and keep up the great practice!
Sadly our wonderful intern Kim is leaving us this week and we can not thank her enough for all the hours, work and energy she has put forth toward moving Earth Yoga forward. Thank You Kim and the good news is that she plans to be back this summer so we will definitely see her back at Earth Yoga in 2015.

MARCH 2016 NEWSLETTER
Dear Yogis,
“ We delight in the beauty of a butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty” Maya Angelou
March is upon us and we encourage ourselves and all of you, dear loyal yogis, to really step into your strength, truth and practice. What keeps coming back to me and to a lot of the friends and souls around me, is the importance to guide our thoughts in the right way and to keep our practice as one of the main tools to steer our ship back on its course.
"Our thoughts can limit what we are capable of doing .
Our mind is good at setting us up for failure and getting us to think small .
But I have found that we will do for love that which we don’t think is possible.
So the question to ask ourselves is : “ What do I Love “?
Julia Butterfly Hill
We have been brainstorming and asking ourselves at Earth Yoga, how can we grow, reach out more and how can we become more truthful with our practice and our core of being each day?
So we have created a few more classes, and challenges both for mind, body and spirit. Some of our dear yoga teachers have been away, seeking inspiration overseas like Katja , Brent and Julia. They are now back and happy to be teaching again, and we are happy to have them back! Angela is taking the month of March off to travel and to immerse herself into an advanced teacher training. We wish her an amazing journey and know that she will come back inspired and ready to share more. While Angela is away Rebecca will guide and teach our Monday evenings classes.
If you have never had a class with Rebecca , come and join her on Mondays at 7pm. Her classes will challenge you both physically and mentally and will leave you feeling energized.
Starting in March we are very happy to introduce two new classes to our schedule:

March Yogi of the month : Albert
´Albert is one of our senior practitioners and yogis here at Earth Yoga and does an incredible job by coming to practice with us on an almost daily basis. Albert came to Yoga when he lived in Hong Kong for some years and searched for a way that would allow him to relief stress and find a different environment to his daily life in the city. Albert has spent a lot of time practicing yoga in Hong Kong and Bangkok and said that the difference is amazing because, compared to most of us in the West, people are much more flexible. When I asked him what it is now that he loves about yoga, Albert said: “Not doing yoga is like not eating.” Taking up yoga at 60 years old, Albert has practiced yoga for 10 years now and has become an amazing example of what yoga can do for you, no matter how old or flexible you are! Albert’s favourite pose is trikonasana, triangle pose. And he wanted to add that his most disliked pose is pigeon! Albert has been practicing with us at Earth Yoga for almost 6 years now and loves the authenticity of the people here. We feel honoured to have such a worldly man practicing with us! Thank you Albert and keep up the effort!´
We have placed a suggestion box on our tea table in front of sofa, we would love to have your feedback and suggestions for how we can grow, improve and inspire more. Sometimes you may even find a chocolate next to the box if you leave us a note! We also kindly ask you to like our FB page and maybe even leave us a note there too. And we are also on Instagram we are @earthyogamallorca please feel free to follow our Earth Yoga journey.
Sending you all much love and inspiration to grow, encourage and act.
